We continually give thanks for all our supporters who are making it possible for us to serve at El Puente this year - from the HC student who handed me $20 in the hall the last week of school to the community member who wrote a $5,000 check. We stand in awe of how God has brought together our team of supporters, both those that write checks and those that pray for us, encourage us with email and Facebook messages and those that faithfully read our blog. We are grateful for each one and consider it a privilege to be here on your behalf. This is not the Vander Beek story. This is God's story of how He uses His faithful servants to work together for His glory.
One chapter of this story is entitled 'The Bikers' blessing'. This week we celebrate the accomplishment of the Rees family who, after months of training, participated this past weekend in the 4 day DALMAC bike ride from Lansing, MI to Mackinaw City, MI. We are very grateful for their creative way to fundraise for us and for all the hours of training they put into accomplishing this huge goal.
