While today is known for Black Friday deals, we enjoyed a 'Green Friday' as we spent a glorious day in Manuel Antonio National Park (about 15-20 minutes from our house). It was the last day we had together with Frank and Joan and we thoroughly enjoyed experiencing God's amazing creation!

| Costa Rica is home to four types of monkeys and we saw three of them today: white faced (above), howler and squirrel/Titi. The fourth kind (not seen around Manuel Antonio) is the spider monkey. |

| So thankful for our wonderful guide (on the right), Johan Chaves, who spotted so many animals besides sloths and monkeys that we would have totally missed without him: bats, toad, cayman, owl, woodpecker, lizards, geckos, crabs, and a kite (a bird). |

ReplyDeleteI loved Manuel Antonio National Park when we were there. Did you see any different animals than we did? How many sloths did you see? Did we see some of the same types of monkeys that you saw?
ReplyDeleteJenna, this time we saw a cayman (in the crocodile/alligator family), a turtle, and some squirrel monkeys that we didn't see when you guys were with us. We saw howler and white faced monkeys again like we did with you. I think we saw 4 sloths this time but no toucans (Johan said it's not a good time of year to see them). Remember the pesky racoons around the picnic area? They were there again! We saw them steal someone's bag of pineapple.
